| This work originally started out as a painting of a photograph of a friend. I found the composition of this image not to be working so used a negative of a magazine advert and layered it over the image to look like a face was being reborn through music/art/religion to reach a higher level of tranquility. There is a hand from a higher power holding that face down so as not to float away or forget who we are at the end of the day. As some form of reality needs to hold us in place.It also can be seen as the dj working the crowd through their music. This is what it means to me, hence the title. Whatever it means to you... |

| Shona graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee with a BA (hons) in Fine Art in 2003 where she was the recipient of The Sandra McNeillance Memorial Award for Drawing and Painting. Since this time she has been exhibiting regularly throughout the UK and in Ireland. Shona has sold to an international audience and her work has featured in many publications. Successful Solo Show Edinburgh Festival, 2007. | |
