Stephanie Amos

About the Artist

Art is my life and my passion. I have been creating art in some form or another for as long as I can remember. In 1999, I had a unique opportunity to study abroad in Florence, Italy through New York University emphasizing in photography and drawing. In 2002, I graduated with a BA from MSC in Colorado. Since then I have continued to create bronze and marble sculpture, abstract paintings, and photography-hand processed and digital.

BUTANE

2006
oil on canvas
40.5x51cm

This is one of two mixed media abstract paintings on canvas. I used warm colors: yellows, oranges, reds. The title of this piece is called Butane. This is the first of the gas series.

APHRODITE

2001
bronze on marble
71x27 cm

APHRODITE
Aphrodite was my second bronze scuplture ever created. She represents sensuality, sophistication, and simplicity of the female figure

NINE MUSES

2006
wax on marble
27x64 cm

NINE MUSES
These nine abstract figures represent my version of the nine muses. They are currently maquettes in wax waiting to be poured in bronze.

GUCCI

2002
bronze on sandstone
25.5x30.5x91 cm

10 x 12 x 36 (W x L x D) IN Description: Gucci is a large colorful abstract bronze sculpture on a sandstone base.

SOLO

2001
bronze
127x39cm

Solo resembles independence and sophistication of the modern woman in a simple abstract form.

Euterpe

2007
bronze/marble
18cmx14cmx4cm

Euterpe
Euterpe is the flute playing muse. Muse means: the one who remembers. They are the daughters of the titan Mnemosyne who is the personification of remembrance. All nine muses have a science or an art to protect. Euterpe is a bronze sculpture on a white marble base. She has a mint green patina to appear weathered. Each muse was created with one arm in reference to the Greek sculptures that we see today.

Epic

2007
Mixed Media
41cmx51cm

Epic is one of four in a new abstract series. It is a 16x20 mixed media consisting of acrylic and oil. I usually paint monochromatic pieces, but thought that I would try painting with all of my favorite colors on one palette. The background is a vibrant yellow and orange with velvet-like blues and a rich crimson red.

Dance of Terp

2007
acrylic
61cm x 122cm

Dance of Terp is one of three new pieces that was on exhibit in a solo show called The Nine Muses and a Night of Passion and Music. It is an abstract acrylic painting on 24x48 canvas.
