| About the Artist |
A major influence on my drawings and sculptures has
been that of the arts of the So. Pacific. Traveling
throughout the So. Pacific islands and Australia at an
early age with my family exposed me to tribal artwork
of different cultures and left a definite impression
upon me. Later as an artist I discovered the arts of
Oceania, which attracted and repelled me at the same
time with its power and grotesqueness. I like using
the figure as an emotional vehicle as seen in my
current series of drawings, in which I try to give
them a certain kind of agitated power by distorting
the invented forms and shapes.
