Susan Pop

About the Artist

SUSAN POP's
Trilogy: the electronic emptiness:
In this first series of 14 works "virex & viralien" Susan Pop studies the interaction-fusion of human being and data processing.

Influenced by modern sciences, she follows the traces of the electronic open system and seeks in the interaction between the electro-technology and the human sensitivity : the residues of human writing.

With the second series “biotype & biopsy 0001-1110” Susan Pop created virtual organic subjects with digital means in a virtual area.
These new 14 works are manufactured natures, which refer to an aliveness without being it: purely electronic, it follows the search, what would be, if organic systems are copied electronically, became their own independent existence & become visually visible.

The third and last part of this trilogy is called “cell battle” and is based and dedited on the human tradition of war, warriors and the fight against the unknown.
Susan Pop created pixel for pixel artificials cells and built a new generation of warriors, weapons and armour furnitures; the preparation of the disparation of the human species and the war against the old world.

Every artwork is mounted on 3cm Plexiglas, which gives at those artworks a three-dimensional effect like a sculpture.
You can hang them on the wall or the small ones you can put on your desk, your library, etc… Those works are an “in-between”: a mix between a new form of contemporary art-work, design & future-lifestyle.
