| Tinsel Edwards |
| |
|
Tinsel Edwards lives and works in East London. She was born in Leamington Spa, 1979.
 |
| |
| About the Artist |
Tinsel's art is an on-going personal narrative, a series of slogans and anecdotes offering a commentary on everyday life.
The subject of each painting varies, from protesting about the price of housing in London, to contemplating snogging Nicolas Serota. The work can highlight social and cultural issues, it promotes personal freedom and talks about our hopes and fears, ultimately it is an honest personal narrative.
'I am interested in promoting the idea of Do It Yourself, and have always been inspired by the spirit of punk. My work often references this and can take the form of positive instructions and statements, I make work that campaigns for things, protests against things and poses questions, all using a cheeky, humorous slant' |
