I am a fine art and reportage photographer, based in London, UK. My list of clients range from galleries, magazine and book publishers through to charities, television production companies, PR and corporate firms. In 1998 I was shortlisted for the The Independent/Nikon 'Travel Photographer of the Year' and in 1999 won the Ilford 'B&W Portrait Photographer of the Year'. |
| About the Artist | |
My art practice involves producing images with various pinhole, low-tech and toy cameras. I enjoy shooting subjects that convey simplicity and serenity and these cameras are perfect for capturing this. They allow me to record the most mundane, everyday subjects in a way that stirs emotion and induces a hazy sense of memory. The soft focus lends a dreamy, surreal feeling and the vignetted edges hold the viewer in. The images these cameras produce are intriguing sometimes tranquil, sometimes haunting. Removing the technical side of photography allows me to focus on storytelling. |
