Victoria Veedell currently lives and works in San Francisco, CA.

She was born and raised in Houston, TX and received a BFA from Texas A & M University, Corpus Christi, TX in 1990. In 1995, to fulfill a lifelong dream she moved to NYC and attended the graduate program in Fine Art (Painting) at New York University. After seven years in New York, in 2001 she and her husband moved to Tokyo for two years. Living in Tokyo made it easy for her to travel throughout Japan and Southeast Asia. She started attending artist-in-residence programs at this time. Her first residency was in 2001 at the Vermont Studio Center, Johnson Vermont. Then in 2002 the Chitraniketan Residency, Kovalam, Kerala, India followed by the Kamiyama Artist Residency, Kamiyama, Japan in 2004.

Travel and the residency programs are important to her work because they inspire the beginning of each new series of paintings. The artist-in-residence programs have been very beneficial to her growth as a painter. The program provides uninterrupted time to focus on creating new work. It’s a way to travel to and work in different geographical locations that will vary in color, light and atmosphere from one another. She finds it to be a very inspiration way to work and develop new images.
