| About the Artist | |
Gisèle's artwork explores the lifestyle and position of women from African descent as well as Muslim women living in the West. Her work encompasses mixed media such as photography, video, sculpture, text and various installations. |

| Education and biography | |
| She currently studying Fine Arts at Central Saint Martin, Byam Show School of Arts. The artist was given the opportunity to showcase her work in the group show, 'Blow My Skirt Up', from October to November 2008 whilst working for the Director of Exhibitions at Chelsea space gallery in London. The Veiled and Unveiled series represents the artist's personal vision of Muslim women wearing the Hijab(veil). She drew inspiration from two artists of African Descent, Yinka Shonibare and the photographer Aida Muluneh whose "Spirit of Sisterhood" stimulated the metamorphosis of Gisèle's ideas into an artistic representation. |
