Pure abstract painter who combines blocks of colour with raw painterliness and controlled geometric shapes. Also moves between the 2D and 3D picture plane using differing materials.

My work specialises in the staging of opposites. In the stand alone paintings, fast movement of paint is combined with flat overlaid blocks of colour. This concept is taken even further in the animal combines, which places a 3 dimensional object in front of a 2 dimensional painting, and raises the contrast between pure abstraction and a figurative model. The works Change your Perception 1 and 2 interplay these ideas, but are also a response to Chinese art factories creating commercially cheap and disposable "Wilkinson's". The coffee cups and bottle are throw away items, which although commercially recognisable and relevant to our time, are also mass produced. The inclusion of such objects against an original one off painting creates a decisive and compelling contrast, raising questions of exclusitivity and commercial availability.
