Painting takes me deep into the bones of nature. I paint because I want to be immersed in life's beauty and power. The paintings are my means of discovery and expression. Every painting is motivated by those drives. I believe that when we paint, we communicate a little of the magic of nature, and I believe that nature resides in our hearts—it is never far away. |

| Common apple wood, copper, and cement materials were used for this piece, to represent nature in its raw form. That nature, is our own biological imperative that writhes against the restraints, that society and the definitions we hold about ourselves impose upon us.
The piece illustrates the inhibitions we have, and promises to somehow break free of them. |
