I am fascinated by the history of the 20th Century, particularly what is now called The Holocaust. I have been interested in this narrative since I first discovered it, aged 11, reading a book called This Is Your Century. At the time I could not find anyone else who was interested in the subject or who seemed to know anything about it.Like football there was no big issue about it and it was not discussed by "respectable" people. Much later I was able to live in Poland for a year and explored the subject further. |

| 教育程度与个人自传 |
| I took A levels in History, Art and English and studied History at Stirling University, then went to the University of Sosnowiec in southern Poland for a year. I have always attended life-drawing classes and have been painting seriously for 15 years. I exhibited in group shows at school and University. As an adult I have exhibited with the Stuckist Painters in London, and at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool. In 2000 I had a portrait of Ken Livingstone in the RA Summer Show. I showed him as a young member of the Bismark family who was arrested and tried for plotting against Hitler in 1944. I painted in the whole room of imaginary characters. At the time I thought he was so hated by the Labour Party that they would have put him on trial for his life if they could have. Since then I have had all "D notices" from the Academy. They wrote to me saying this was "a fine achievement," but I wish they'd just go ahead and hang one.I recently had a show at my own studio. On April 28th I had a painting in an auction held by Sotheby's, in Belfast, for the Charity, Wave, for victims of trauma. My painting Anne At the Beach raised £1,500. |
