Anju is a U.S. Citizen of Indian origin. She was born in 1961 in Jaipur, India. a self taught artist, she has been painting since the past twenty five years. |
| About the Artist | |
Since then she has developed a visual language which is very personal and universal at the same time. Her work seeks to convey the very network which weaves the workings of tne human mind into a collective subconscious, where all identities overlap or merge but when under pressure surface as solid blocks of violent egoistic outbursts. |

| Education and biography | |
| Anju received the highest award in India for visual arts, the National Award of the Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi in 1981. She is the youngest recipient of this award at nineteen years . Exhibitions : * Six solos shows in New Delhi, India. 1982, 1985, 1993, 1996, 1999, 2002 * Solo show in Brand Library Art Centre, Glendale, California, U.S.A. 1998 * Part of a group show sent by theNational Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi to Japan and Bulgaria . 1984 * Group show in the Museum of Arts Downtown, Los Angeles, U.S.A. 1997 * Group show “ Indian Women Artists “ organized by the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi, India. 1985 * Group show in Orlando Gallery, Santa Monica, California, U.S.A. 1997 * Binneale, Bharat Bhawan, Bhopal, India. 1990, 1994 * Group show, Pundole Art Gallery ( Sothebys India representatives ) Mumbai, India 1992 * Group show “ Joy of Life “, Gallery Art Alive, Visual Arts Gallery, New Delhi, India. 2002 * Group show “ Shakti “ (Power) , Gallery Anant, New Delhi, India. 2003 * Group show “ Revert to the Nucleus “ presented by Indian Art Circle , Ashoka Hotel, New Delhi, India. 2004 * Work donated , to raise funds for the new Alliance Francaise building, New Delhi.
