Aleida van der Hoogte (pronounced A-lay-da fon dare Hocht) was born in Amsterdam, NL
and trained at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten during the '70s.
About the Artist
Aleida was inspired from an early age by the Dutch Floral Masters including Rachel Ruysch, Willem van Aelst, Jan van Huysum and Gerard and Cornelius van Spaendonck. Although Aleida is primarily recognised for her floral works, her portfolio includes portraiture and abstract-Impressionist landscapes. Aleida's most popular work is her modern florals - a unique fusion of classical technique and bold contemporary composition.
