| About the Artist | |
Emerging artist, Manuela Paz, is a graduate from the School of Visual Arts photography program in New York. Her photographs of female protagonists gesturing within the frame of a mirror reveal a contemporary psychological exploration while subtly invoking conventions of Renaissance portraiture. The work evokes a melancholy state of suspension with subtle accents and hesitations that suggest ambiguous narratives. |
