| About the Artist |
My sources of inspiration are in the natural environment surrounding us. On my daily walks I explore the beauty in colours, organic textures and dynamics of the nature, which I find so fascinating as nature?s living artwork, that is so rich in details and in a constant flow. In my creative process I become part of this flow and its pulsing energy, which flows through my body and is captured onto the canvas by each spontaneous brush stroke...
On the paintings in my March-April 2006 Flowing Moments exhibition the strong colours were inspired by the warm and bright colours of Central Australia as well as the cool and deep colours of the Southern Ocean, my two favourite locations for meditation and self-reflection.
My WinterWorks exhibition turned out as a series of explorations with different painting techniques and textures. The paintings were strongly inspired by the winter season with its colder and paler colours combined with the influence of those many long and cold winters I experienced back in Finland.
