ALEX STALENBERG was born 1955 in the town of Bakkum/Castricum, the Netherlands.
He started sculpting and drawings at the age of 12. After secondary school Alex followed the
School of Horticulture to become à Landscape architect. His early inspiration by nature is one
of the main influence for his today's research of new harmonies. Ikebana has been an ispiration
for his todays simple lines drawings.
CoBrA mouvement, Henry Moore, Ossip Zadkine but also Amsterdam’s town sculptor Hildo
Krop have been earlyer sources. He mooved to France in 1985
He realised nombrous sculptures, assemblies, installations, drawings and wall paintings but also
photographies in France and abroad. He made part of artists moovements in Paris, New-York
and Berlin and has been the co-founder over several Art projects and "Multi-Art" spaces. He
rallies, through his participation and foundation of several Artist moovemenbts, for a better
integration of Artists and Art in today's society.
Since 1997 he is living in the French region of Poitou-Charentes, He has regularely been
invited to work with pupils & students in several schools.
Alex is an active philosopher and considers his Artwork as his "Reflexion base".
The recent aspect of his stone sculptures talk about tactylity and multiple positions over 360º
views. Also his drawings are presented in seperate or combined exhibitions with sculptures.
Many sculptures and drawings entered in private collections worldwide.

| About the Artist |
Tactyle multiple position and/or 360° sculptures majorely in stone and wood.
Influences Henry Moore Ossip Zadkine, Hildo Krop (Amsterdam's town sculptor) but also PreColombian Art and African Art, Ikebana have influenced both sculptures, drawings and paintings.
Later on the CoBrA moovement played a role in his imaginative creature world and forms. |
